Naval Aircraft Yard Kochi has organized Aircraft Production Review Conference under the aegis of Southern Naval Command.
The status of production of aircraft and rotables, vital to sustain front line fleet was reviewed by Aviation Technocracy comprising senior functionaries from IHQMoD(Navy), HQNA, Aircraft Yards, Material Organizations and all major Air Stations.
The Conference was chaired by Vice Admiral MA Hampiholi, AVSM, NM, Flag Officer Commanding Chief, Southern Naval Command, who in his inaugural address, lauded efforts of maintainers in sustaining vintage assets along with seamless integration of new platforms.
He urged aviation units to renew their efforts towards achieving real ‘Atma Nirbharta’ and strive to find homegrown solutions with the help of MSMEs and startups.
Rear Admiral Deepak Bansal, VSM, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Air Materiel) highlighted the efforts underway towards enhancing availability of frontline aircraft. He also brought out various initiatives taken for raising the professional bar by relentless engagement with seven indigenous aviation elements. He highlighted the importance of MoUs with HAL Management Academy, leading IITs, IISc., PEC and the inescapable necessity for setting-up of Advanced Aero Engine Training Centre (AAETC), Naval Aircraft Material Testing and Analysis Centre (NAMTAC) and formulation of Technical Core groups to tap expertise of high caliber Air Technical Officers in resolving intricate problems being faced by Naval Aviation.
