Russian Helicopters holding company presented its multipurpose civilian helicopters, Ansat and Mi-171A2, at the “INNOPROM. Big Industrial Week in Tashkent” exhibition.
Both models were introduced to the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov by Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, CEO of Rostec Sergey Chemezov and Deputy General Director of the Russian Helicopters holding company for civilian helicopter sales Yuri Matsegor.
In Russia, Ansat is actively used as air ambulance and acts as one of the main helicopters for medical aviation. Ansats are used for rescue operations in over 10 regions of Russia, the geography of their application is constantly expanding. Over 30 Ansat helicopters have already been delivered as part of the Russian air medical services development program launched in 2017.
Ansat’s medical equipment is regularly updated: in 2020 the helicopter received a new medical module with a simplified patient loading system, an incubator for transporting newborns and an isolation unit that allows safe transport of patients infected with COVID-19.
Mi-171A2 is operated by UTair, the largest helicopter operator in Russia. The company uses this model for transport services. The first foreign operator of Mi-171A2 became the Republic of Kazakhstan. In addition, the helicopter certificate has been validated by the aviation authorities of South Korea, India and Colombia, and validation work is underway in China, Brazil, Mexico, Peru and several other countries. Depending on the operator needs, Mi-171A2 helicopter can perform search and rescue missions, medical and cargo operations, fight fires or carry passengers day and night, at temperatures from –50°C to +50°C.
Mi-171A2 is powered by modern, high performance VK-2500 engines that give it fundamentally new possibilities for operation in high-mountain and high-temperature regions. Due to its more efficient X-shaped tail rotor, a new main rotor with all-composite blades, and improved aerodynamic profile, the cruise and maximum speeds of Mi-171A2 helicopter are 10 percent higher and its load capacity is 25 percent greater than those of serial Mi-8/17 helicopters.
Mi-171A2 comes with a modern digital “glass cockpit” avionics suite which allows to reduce its crew to two persons. Video cameras provide a better view during external load operations. Its flight safety is improved by modern terrain awareness and warning systems, airborne and obstacle collision avoidance systems.
